Hello, and welcome to my website! I’m Ishmam Bin Rofi (he/him), currently pursuing my PhD in Computer Science, advised by Dr. Ersin Uzun. My research focuses on human factors in security (usable security)—exploring how people interact with and shape secure systems. I am currently a part of DeFake Lab.
I previously studied Computer Science at Brac University in Bangladesh, where I worked as a student tutor (undergrad TA). Fluent in both Bangla and English, I stay rooted in my culture while actively engaging with the global academic community.
Besides work, you can often find me lost in passionate debates about history, conspiracy theories, and philosophy. Beyond the academic realm, I enjoy diving into machine learning algorithms, contributing to open-source projects, and reflecting on the complexities of human existence.
I have been a part of the Computing for Sustainability and Social Good (C2SG) Research Group directed by Dr. Jannatun Noor Mukta.
Previously I have published at CHI, IEEE Xplore, and SOUPS.
